Adam Mucci has a recognizable face. But strangers have only recently started to recognize it.

As Mucci, who lives in Saddle Brook, stood talking with friends and family outside a Garden State Plaza movie theater Wednesday night, people streaming out of the new feature film “Public Enemies” started nudging each other.

There was the unmistakable square jaw, the rounded chin, the reddish cheeks that only minutes ago filled the screen in several pivotal moments of the movie.

“That’s a strange thing,” he said later. “I’ve always been that guy, ‘You’re an actor? What have you been in?’ Now, it’s, ‘Oh, you’re that guy!’”
